ACTIVITIES Discover immediate beauty of the Zala Valley on horseback, by bike or even on foot! Near the farm there are numerous sights and activities to explore: SEHENSWÜRDIGKEITEN Kultur und Natur in der Umgebung: Hier gibt es viel zu entdecken! Die Gegend rund um den Reithof bietet viele unterschiedliche Ausflugsziele. Neben dem international bekannten Balaton und seiner unmittelbaren Umgebung ist auch das Natura-2000-Schutzgebiet eine Reise wert. Ebenso die nah gelegene und schnell zu erreichende Stadt Keszthely verspricht mit dem Schloss und der interessanten Historie einen interessanten Aufenthalt. Weitere Ausflugsziele sind die Tihany Insel und das Káli-Becken. Balaton und seine Region Der Balaton oder Plattensee ist ein Süßwassersee im Westen Ungarns und eine bedeutende Urlaubsregion. An seinem 197 km langen Ufer erstrecken sich vulkanische Hügel, Strände und historische Badeorte. Die hügelige Nordküste ist ein Weinanbaugebiet. Dort befindet sich auch der Nationalpark Balaton-Oberland mit geschützten Feuchtgebieten und verschiedenen Wanderwegen. Kis- Balaton - der kleine Bruder des Plattensees Eine Fahrt an den "kleinen Balaton" ist definitiv eine Reise wert. Dieses Natura-2000- Schutzgebiet ist ein weiträumiges Konglomerat aus Sumpf, Schilf und freier Wasserfläche. Gespeist durch Thermalquellen, sodass der See auch im Winter nicht zufriert, wirkt er als biologischer Filter für den Balaton, in dem das Wasser etwa 30 Tage zirkuliert, bevor es in den Balaton gelangt. Das Gebiet verfügt über eine besonders reiche Flora und Fauna, wobei gerade seine Vogelwelt europaweit berühmt ist. Große Teile des Gebietes stehen unter strengem Naturschutz, können jedoch entlang bestimmter Routen mit dem Bus besucht werden. Ausgangspunkt dieser „Expeditionen“ ist das Kis-Balaton-Haus bei Zalavár, das Info-Center für den Kis-Balaton. Frei zugänglich ist die Kányavárer Insel über eine Holzbrücke – das Wahrzeichen des Kis-Balaton – erreicht werden kann. Auf der Insel befinden sich mehrere Aussichtspunkte, auch Grillstellen, Tische und Bänke, sodass einem Ausflug mit der ganzen Familie und einem Picknick nichts im Wege steht. Ein Lehrpfad unterrichtet die Interessierten über die vorkommenden Vögel und Pflanzen, und Angler können hier ihrem Hobby nachgehen (Anglerkarte erforderlich). Programme: Von Mai bis Mitte/Ende August werden Mittwochs und Samstags um 8.00 Uhr Bootstouren für 4 bis 7 Personen vom Kis-Balaton Forschungshaus (Fenékpuszta) angeboten. Dauer ungefähr zwei Stunden. Halbinsel Tihany Die Halbinsel Tihany mit dem gleichnamigen Städtchen ist ein wirkliches Schmuckstück. Natur und Kultur der Halbinsel, die weit in den Balaton hineinragt, eignen sich hervorragend für kleine Wanderungen. Für Tihany spielt der Lavendel-Anbau eine bedeutende Rolle. Intensiv duftet das Örtchen mit seinen kleinen verspielten weißen Häusern und romantischen Gassen. Die bekannteste Sehenswürdigkeit ist das Kloster Tihany, eines der bedeutendsten historischen Baudenkmäler in Ungarn. Das Kloster wurde im Jahr 1055 gegründet. Heute gehört es dem Benediktiner-Orden. Große Teile des Klosters sind als Museum zu besichtigen. Natürlich und weitere kulturelle Sehenswürdigkeiten in Tihany sind: Die Mönchsklausen am Óvár Berg (dt. Alter Burgberg), das Freilichtmuseum (Batthyány Lajos u. 36) zeigt Häuser aus dem 18. Jahrhundert, das Töpferhaus, (Pisky sétány 9) befindet sich im alten Dorfsteil Ófalu sowie der Gipfel des Berges Csúcs-hegy. Der Weg dorthin führt durch Natur, die vor Urzeiten von Geysiren geformt wurde. Von oben hat man einen herrlichen Blick auf die Halbinsel und den Balaton. Keszthely und Schloss Festetics Die Stadt Keszthely am Nordwestufer mit seiner sehenswerten Altstadt und dem Schloss Festetics lädt zum Bummeln ein. Das Wort „Keszthely“ (gesprochen: Kesthei) stammt von dem lateinischen Wort „Castrum“ ab und bedeutet so viel wie Kastell oder Burg. Die Stadt gehört mit deinen etwa 20.000 ständigen Einwohnern zu den ältesten Badeorten am Balaton. Das Städtchen, das über dem Balaton thront, hat seine Bedeutung zu einem großen Teil der Familie Festetics, einer ursprünglich aus Kroatien stammenden Familie und der Georgikon- Schule zu verdanken. Das wunderschöne Barockschloss der Familie Festetics ist das drittgrößte Schloss Ungarns. Es besteht aus 101 Räumen und besitzt einen imposanten Zwiebelturm, eine Kapelle und die Bibliothek. Das Schloss wurde zwischen 1745 und 1887 mehrmals umgebaut und verändert und vergrößert. Bei den letzten Veränderungen (1883-1887) erhielt das Schloss ein Mansardendach und wurde mit einer, damals modernen, Zentralheizung ausgestattet. Bei diesem Umbau erhielt das Gebäude seine heutige Form. Die letzten Bewohner von Schloss Festetics waren die Urenkel von Georg Festetics und sein Sohn, Tassilo und Georg III. Sie verließen das Schloss im Jahre 1944. Káli-Becken Nur zehn Kilometer nördlich des Plattensees liegt das Káli-Becken, benannt nach der Sippe der "Kál", die im frühen Mittelalter diese Region in Besitz genommen hatte. Gleich neben dem Trubel des Balaton befindet sich hier ein vom modernen Leben nahezu unberührtes Land. Der Berg Hegyestű, mit einer Höhe von 337 m über dem Meeresspiegel, befindet sich zwischen Zánka und Monoszló und bewacht das Tor des Káli Beckens. Vom Balaton aus zeigt sich der Berg in der Form eines Kegels. Der nördliche Hang dieses Vulkanbergs wurde im Steinbruch abgebaut. Die zurückgebliebene rund 50 m hohe Bergwand zeigt uns das Innere des vor 8 Millionen Jahren aktiven Vulkans. Die in dem Krater des Vulkans erkaltete Lava trennte sich während des Abkühlens in mehreckige, senkrechte Säulen. Vom westlichen Rand des Steinbruchs zeigt sich das schönste Panorama auf das Káli-Becken. THERMALBÄDER Die Seele baumeln lassen! Unsere Region zeichnet sich durch eine Vielfalt an unterschiedlichen Thermalbädern in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Hof aus. Sie befinden sich in Héviz, Zalaszentgrót und Kehidakustány. Die Anlagen in Zalaszentgrót und Kehidakustány eigenen sich sehr gut für Familien und liegen nur 7 Kilometer vom Hof entfernt und sind auch mit dem Fahrrad sehr gut erreichbar! Badeanstalt am Thermalsee Héviz In einer malerischen Gegend liegt der 4,4ha große Thermalsee des Städtchens Hévíz, was übersetzt „Thermalwasser“ bedeutet. Der See von Bad Hévíz ist der weltweit größte natürliche und biologisch aktive Thermalsee. Die heilende Wirkung seines Wassers haben schon die Römer zu schätzen gewusst. Er besitzt eine maximale Kratertiefe von 38,5 Metern, wo sich eine Höhle mit mehreren, verschieden temperierten Quellen befindet. Aus der Quellhöhle tritt fast 40°C Grad warmes Thermalwasser hervor, und zwar so ergiebig, dass sich das gesamte Wasser im See alle 72 Stunden komplett austauscht. In diesem See kann man ganzjährig schwimmen: Die Wassertemperatur des Sees sinkt selbst im Winter nie unter 22°C und erreicht im Sommer 35-38°C. Die Badeanstalt im historischen Baustil liegt mitten im See. Thermalbad Szent Gróth Mit 5 Outdoor- und 4 Indoorpools auf 1.100 qm Wasserfläche, einem Erlebnisbecken mit einer Wasserrutsche, Massagebänken, Luftsprudeln und einem Wasserpilz wartet das Thermalbad Szent Gróth in dem kleinen Städtchen mit ca. 7.800 Einwohnern in einem schönen Park auf über 2 Hektar auf. Das Thermalbad Szent Gróth wurde 1997 errichtet und 2001 mit Mitteln der EU ausgebaut. Aus einer Tiefe von 660 Metern wird das Thermalwasser gewonnen und es ist sehr mineralreich. Es wird von einem internationalen Konzern auch als Mineralwasser unter der Marke „Natur Aqua“ vermarktet. Das behindertengerechte Bad ist ganzjährig geöffnet und bietet neben dem Thermalbad u.a. auch eine finnische Sauna an. Thermalbad Kehida / Kehidakustány Die Therme Kehida ist bei Familien ausgesprochen beliebt. Das weitläufige Erlebnisbad bietet auch den kleinen Gästen jede Menge Action. Mehrere Becken mit unterschiedlichen Temperaturen laden zum Schwimmen und Baden ein. Das Heilwasser von Kehida ist darüber hinaus zur Kur bei hohem Blutdruck und bei Hauterkrankungen geeignet. SPORT Auf nichts verzichten! Neben dem Reiten bietet das Zala Tal und die unmittelbare Umgebung viele weitere Möglichkeiten sich sportlich zu betätigen. In der direkten Nachbarschaft liegt das Zala Springs Golf Resort – ein Traum für jeden Golfliebhaber. Der Balaton bietet ein breites Spektrum für alle Wassersportfreunde – aller Altersklassen und die schöne Natur des Kis-Balaton kann mit dem e-Bike erkundet werden. Golf Zala Springs Golf Resort In unmittelbarer Nähe zum Hof, inmitten des malerischen Zala-Tals, zwischen Seen und den angrenzenden Weinbergen liegt der anspruchsvolle und zugleich wunderschöne Championship-Golf-Platz. Der Par 72-Kurs stammt aus der Feder des weltberühmten Star-Architekten Robert Trent Jones Jr. Ob Profi oder Hobbygolfer – in Zala Springs finden Golfer jeder Spielstärke Spaß und Herausforderung. Wassersport Segeln, Surfen, Kajak oder Stand Up Paddle Der Balaton bietet für Wassersportfreunde ganz vielfältige und unterschiedliche Möglichkeiten. Gerade im Frühjahr und durchaus auch in den Monaten Juni/Juli ist er ein sehr gutes Revier für Segler und Surfer. Besonders das flache Wasser und die dadurch verhältnismäßig großen Wellen bei Sturm ziehen in den letzten Jahren immer mehr Kiteboarder an den See. Im Hochsommer und September ist meist ruhigeres Wetter angesagt und ideal für Ausflüge mit dem Kajak oder Stand Up Paddle. Since 2023, therapeutic riding has been an integral part of the Reithof. What began with initial programmes for children has continued to develop: for children from the local area as well as children with disabilities and their single parents from Munich. At the heart of our work is the encounter between human and horse – creating space for movement, connection, trust, self-efficacy and personal development. Since 2026, we have also been part of the Heilpferdeakademie. This makes the Reithof a training centre as well: our intensive courses offer the opportunity to complete training as a therapeutic riding practitioner. A SPECIAL PLACE FOR SPECIAL ENCOUNTERS Encounters that move. Therapeutic riding has been an integral part of the Reithof since 2023. Since 2023, we have been working with children and young people as part of therapeutic riding programmes. Our programme continues to grow. We want to give children from the surrounding area the opportunity to experience horses, while also reaching people for whom such an experience is not something they can take for granted. A particular focus is our work with children with disabilities and their single parents from Munich. We offer them an intensive stay at the Reithof, combining therapeutic riding, experiencing nature, meaningful encounters and time to relax. Our Reithof provides a special setting for this: plenty of nature, direct contact with horses and enough time for relationships to develop. WHAT DOES THERAPEUTIC RIDING MEAN? More than riding. The horse as a living partner The horse becomes a partner in an educational, therapeutic or developmental process. Through its immediate response to body language, movement and behaviour, it enables experiences that can be particularly valuable for children. Since 2026, we have been part of the Heilpferdeakademie. This allows us to combine our many years of practical experience with the training of people who want to work professionally with horses in therapeutic and educational settings. Our intensive courses offer the opportunity to complete training as a therapeutic riding practitioner at the Reithof. What makes our training centre special is the direct connection between theory and practice. Participants do not simply learn about therapeutic riding – they experience the work where it actually takes place: with horses, people and in nature.
