Our horses
Our horses are at the heart of the Reithof. Each one has its own character, its own story and its own special way of connecting with people.
Some are curious and spirited, others calm and patient – every horse is unique, and that is what makes our herd so special.
We want our horses to feel at home and find their place within the herd. They live together with their companions, spend time in the pastures and are cared for with calm, patience and respect.
Our horses meet people in many different ways: during a first encounter, in a riding lesson, on a trail ride, in therapeutic riding or simply in a special moment in the pasture.
Sometimes, it is precisely this connection between horse and human that stays with us.

For more than 30 years, the Reithof has been shaped by people who share a passion for horses – dedicated companions, loyal guests, riders and all the encounters that have made this place what it is today.
Much has changed over the years. The Reithof has been extensively renewed and developed into a place where modern structures and diverse riding experiences meet what has always been at its heart: a love of horses, the peace of nature and the joy of being together.
A place where history remains tangible while there is always room for new stories.
EXPERIENCE NATURE
The Zala Valley
In south-western Hungary, the Zala Valley has preserved much of its natural character. Gentle hills, wide forests, idyllic villages and quiet paths invite you to explore, slow down and enjoy the moment – on horseback, on foot or simply by taking a pause.
Szentmihálypuszta lies at the heart of this special landscape. Our Reithof covers more than 50 hectares in the picturesque Zala Valley, surrounded by gentle hills.
It is a wonderful starting point for varied trail rides and memorable experiences in nature.
The landscape around the Reithof is part of the European Natura 2000 network. Protecting valuable habitats and native plants and animals is therefore especially important to us.
We feel closely connected to this nature and want to treat it responsibly. Our own photovoltaic system supplies the farm with renewable electricity.
Perhaps it is precisely this combination of space, tranquillity and unspoilt nature that makes the Zala Valley so special.

The Reithof is part of the regional “Open Farms” network. Farms and agricultural businesses throughout the Zala Valley have joined forces to promote local production, rural tourism and cultural exchange.
During a day ride, you can visit our neighbours and discover local food and drinks in our restaurant.
